Participants also reflected on NGID's progress towards its original ambitions.

Technological advances for ultra-high-resolution skin characterisation received the highest average score (6.1/10), followed by the development of customised translational disease models (5.7/10). Participants also recognised progress in understanding disease mechanisms and behavioural factors (both around 5/10).
At the same time, biomarker identification (3.4/10) and data integration (4.2/10) were identified as areas where further progress is still expected during the second half of the programme.
